[edit]The JH-7 & JH-7A is currently in service with the PLANAF only, and not the PLAAF: http://www.china-military.org/units/planaf.htm
Currently, the PLANAF 6th Division (East Sea Fleet) and 9th Division (South Sea Fleet) is equipped with JH-7 & JH-7A.
There is no proof that the JH-7 is based on the F-111. The aircraft was originally designed to have 2 versions, a twin-seat tandem config for PLANAF and side-by-side seat variant for PLAAF. The claim of F-111 copy came from the PLAAF variant, which was dropped. -- June 23, 2006
Here's a picture showing the difference between JH-7 and JH-7A, and the discussion thread. The first picture claims that the JH-7A belongs to PLAAF Southern Air Command's 28th Division. This means that the JH-7(A) is in service with both the PLAAF and PLANAF. -- Adeptitus 17:29, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
This is a very interesting and misterios aircraft. Sadly i know that it was in fact defeated by Su-27-30 in fighter bomber versions. It had high bypass R.R. Spey AFAIK and fixed wing. Basically it is very similar to TSR.2, being without the costly even if worthy VG wing. It was defeated in Chinese air force, but it was evalued useful in naval tasks, in small numbers in Naval aviation. It is really a misterious one, produced in few numbers as successor of Badgers and Fantans, but in small numbers.--Stefanomencarelli 19:12, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
- What you said is true only for JH-7, because the much improved JH-7A are inducted in big numbers by both PLAAF ana PLANAF.Mxiong (talk) 11:27, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
I'm confused by the specifications, specifically total weight limit for the hard points under armament. It says 9,000 kg (8,000 lbs). At 2.2 lbs per kg one or the other is in error (or both could be). I don't know which, am just pointing this out for accuracy.Walter M. Clark (talk) 21:00, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
Combat radius figure when multiplied by 2 seems too near to ferry range and may be in error. It may actually be the range with combat load. --Feibao (talk) 10:15, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

[edit]What is the provenance of this source which is used? Who wrote it? There seem to be sources at the bottom of the paper, but given the format it doesn't seem particularly scholarly. - RovingPersonalityConstruct (talk, contribs) 11:07, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
